Dennis, the Dilophosaurus
He has a hat, a lanyard, and a voice that sounds delighted to meet you. He is also the reason a generation of players typed this game's name into a search bar. Here is what Dennis actually is.

Who Dennis is
Dennis is the Dilophosaurus of the Paleo Pals: the mascot lineup that Dalton's Dinos used to sell itself to children. He is the troublemaker of the group — the one who thinks science is for nerds and safety rules are suggestions — and he is voiced by CG5.
In the attraction he appears as a costume, a talk box, and a piece of branding. In the story he appears as something else entirely, which is where the confusion starts.

The two Dennises
This is the part almost every search result gets wrong, so it is worth stating plainly.
Dennis the mascot
A costume
A Dilophosaurus suit on a rack in the staff room, with a talk box in the attraction. Voiced by CG5. Part of the merchandise layer of Dalton's Dinos, designed to entertain children.
Dennis the creature
A hybrid
The Dilophosaurus–human Hybrid that wears the Benji suit to move through the attraction unnoticed, and drops it when it decides to pursue you. It is the game's main antagonist.
They are connected, but they are not the same object. The mascot is a product. The creature is what the product was named after, or possibly the other way around — the game is deliberately vague about which came first, and the ambiguity is the horror.
Spoiler · how the two are connected
Dalton Jr. talks constantly about an imaginary friend he calls Raptor Boy. Adults dismiss it as a lonely child's invention. It is not. The creature has been visiting him, and Dennis is the name the attraction already gave a Dilophosaurus, which is why the child's friend and the mascot share a face.
The reason this lands is that Dalton, the one adult who could have listened, was too busy being embarrassed by his son to notice what his son was actually telling him.
The voice: CG5
Dennis is voiced by CG5, the musician and content creator whose sound is closely associated with the mascot-horror wave. Casting him is not a coincidence: WDR Studios grew out of JT Music, and the whole game is built by people who came up through the same YouTube music scene.
The performance is the joke. Dennis sounds like a children's entertainer doing a bit about breaking rules, which makes the moments where that voice comes out of something that is not a costume considerably worse.
Raptor Boy
Dalton Jr. calls his friend “Raptor Boy”. Nobody in the game takes this seriously, including his father, who is more annoyed by the nickname “DJ” than concerned about an imaginary friend in a building full of unsecured machinery.
The game uses this the way good horror always uses children: as the only character who is telling the truth and the only one nobody believes.
Dennis is not the Allosaurus
Several guides and a lot of social posts describe Dennis as an Allosaurus. That is wrong, and it is an easy mistake to make because two different things are true at once:
- Alistair is the Allosaurus Paleo Pal, voiced by Russell “Rockit” McKamey.
- The Allosaurus is the monster that patrols Level 3.
- Dennis is the Dilophosaurus, and the Hybrid is Dilophosaurus-based.
The confusion likely comes from the fossil in the lobby: the Allosaurus mount is the one holding half of the first note, so it is the dinosaur players spend the most time looking at in the opening hour.
Why everyone searches him
Dennis became the game's most-searched character for three reasons that compound:
- He looks ridiculous in the best way. A Dilophosaurus in a ranger hat with a lanyard is a strong image, and it travelled well on social media before launch.
- He is genuinely the scariest thing in the game. The creature that wears him is faster, smarter about props, and shows up in rooms you already cleared.
- The name is funny. A dinosaur called Dennis, in a game full of dramatic monster names, is inherently a meme.
When Dennis finds you
The Hybrid is a late-game problem, but the rules are the same as every other chase:
Assume the room is not clear
It re-enters spaces you have already visited. A closed door is a delay, not a barrier.Do not take the wide line
It cuts corners. Hug the inside of turns rather than arcing around them.Keep both hands off the camera
The final chase has two jumps that punish a look-back. You already know it is there.Trust the scripted ending
The last sequence is on rails. Do not try to fight it, out-think it, or find a third option. Take the prompt when it appears.
